Machinability Studies on Hybrid Aluminum Metal Matrix Composites

Hybrid metal matrix composites are new invention in material science and Engineering. The hybrid (Hybrid MMC’s) generally consist of two or more reinforcements it. These MMC’s have several benefits over the single reinforcement. presence it exhibits improved mechanical, tribological machinability properties. Aluminium-based made attention recent years as engineering materials. But some use reinforcement may sometimes lead to weakening its physical Conversely, overcome problem reinforced composites, idea different types is being explored Aluminium matrix. In MMC’s, one will be a hard phase other soft lubricating phase. Hard such TiO 2 , Al O 3 SiC, etc. improve hardness abrasive wear resistance but has negative effect on Aluminium. To balance these effects, like graphite which solid lubricant can dispersed along with reinforcements. present study, paper reviews processing techniques, machining parameters aluminium composites.
